BIRMINGHAM will meet up with psychic medium Philip Solomon in a bid to lift the curse on the team and the stadium ahead of Wednesday’s Perry Barr clash with Reading.
Manager Graham Drury has resorted to such action following an astonishing injury run which has seen an entire team ruled out at one time or another this season.
And Drury also revealed how Solomon believes he can help raise performance levels throughout the team... by as much as 10 per cent.
"Philip Solomon is well known in the West Midlands area for the work he does," said Drury. "He actually approached us and I did some research into what he does and we all feel he can lift the injury curse on the team and on the track itself.
"I honestly feel we have to be the unluckiest speedway team ever. We've had more than an entire 1-7 hit by injuries and we felt this was worth a try. We're delighted to have Philip Solomon on board.
"By putting our riders into a trance, their psychological thoughts and confidence will be improved. At the same time, it's created a lot of media interest!"
The afternoon session with Solomon will be behind closed doors with no members of the general public allowed entry.
Birmingham will have seven riders on track for the first time since April 2 when Kyle Legault suffered a broken femur.
Former Brummies star Ulrich Ostergaard is ruled out through injury for Reading and will be replaced by guest rider Josef Franc.
