Its a festival of speedway at the South Tees Motorsport Park off South Bank Road, Middlesbrough this week with speedway action on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

This Tuesday evening the Redcar Bears stage the Premier League fixture postponed last Friday evening against the Sheffield Tigers. The Bears will be back at full strength for the first time since March 30th with Chris Kerr, Daniel Giffard and Arlo Bugeja having recovered from their various injuries. The Bears went close to victory against the Tigers at the Owlerton Stadium, Sheffield last Thursday evening earning a 45-45 draw with solid heat-leader contributions from Gary Havelock, James Grieves and Ty Proctor. The rider parade is at 7.20pm with the first race at 7.30pm

Redcar 'TLS' Bears: 1. Gary Havelock (C) 2. Josh Auty 3. James Grieves 4. Chris Kerr 5. Ty Proctor 6. Daniel Giffard 7. Arlo Bugeja

Then it is back to the traditional racenight on Thursday when the Bears face a formidable fixture with reigning Premier League Champions the Rye House Rockets in town. The Rockets will be without the up and coming Tai Woffinden as he is on Great Britain international duty in World Cup week and so the very effective Tomas Topinka from the Kings Lynn Stars is booked in as a guest. There is still plenty of firepower in the Rockets' ranks with experienced Swede Stefan Ekberg and club skipper Chris Neath in key positions in the  Champions' line-up.

REDCAR 'TLS' BEARS: 1. Gary Havelock (C) 2. Josh Auty 3. James Grieves 4. Chris Kerr 5. Ty Proctor 6. Daniel Giffard 7. Arlo Bugeja

The match will be sponsored by Tyne Tees Demolition of Newton Aycliffe.

Finally on Saturday afternoon at 3pm there is the re-staging of the first round of the Under-15 Championship of Great Britain. A racecard for the event will be produced in Tuesday night's matchday programme on page 14. There will be free admission to the event on production at the entry kiosk of that programme. Otherwise admission is £2 per head.

Meanwhile the Redcar 'TLS/Simpson Racing UK' Cubs have signed Benji Compton who has previously ridden for the Sheffield Tigers, the Berwick bandits and the Scunthorpe Scorpions at Premier League level. Benji is scheduled to make his debut for the Cubs against the Rye House Cobras at the South Tees Motorsports Park on the afternoon of Saturday July 26th and his presence adds to their scoring potential.
