THERE will be an unusual look about the Coventry team which takes to the track at Brandon against Poole on Friday as the Buildbase Bees look for a confidence-boosting home win.
Bees will be without four of their regular top five riders due to injuries and international meetings - but they are confident that the replacements will be up for the job.
The missing men are injured duo Chris Harris and Billy Janniro, whilst Rory Schlein and Simon Stead are absent due to the World Championship semi-finals the following day.
In their places, Bees call upon the services of Wolverhampton skipper Fredrik Lindgren and Ipswich's Polish star Piotr Swiderski, both of whom have had excellent meetings at Brandon in the past.
Coventry operate rider-replacement for Harris, with all members of the team entitled to one of his rides, whilst Janniro is replaced by British Under-21 Champion Tai Woffinden, the super-talented 17-year-old who was a track reserve at last weekend's British Grand Prix.
Poole, who won Wednesday's corresponding fixture 54-36, are top of the Elite League table, but will have bad memories of their last trip to Brandon when the Buildbase Bees famously overturned a 24-point first leg deficit to reach the Final of the Craven Shield competition.
Manager Peter Oakes said: "We were relatively satisfied at Poole given the circumstances, but not completely satisfied because there were still one or two problems within the team.
"But overall it was a good fighting performance, and now we need to try and make sure we get a home win on Friday."
