The Weymouth Doonan Wildcats return to Devon this Friday where they meet the Plymouth Devils in the second leg of the Knock Out Cup.  This fixture fell foul to the great British weather last week and the rearranged meeting sees the Wildcats face a tough task taking just a two point advantage from the first leg to the Saint Boniface Arena.  Jem Dicken Wildcats team manager said “Although we only have a two point lead I am confident that our luck has changed and the Wildcats will be able to pull off an unexpected win.  The riders know they are better than their adversaries and its just getting to grips with the tricky track that’s the problem.”

This Saturdays home meeting welcomes the Swindon Sprockets to the Wessex Stadium.  Swindon have not competed in the Conference League since 2004 and bring an impressive line up to Radipole Lane to face the Doonans Wildcats.  Two young Australians – Ryan and Justin Sedgeman who are currently the talk of Australian speedway after a string of impressive results in their home land, will be making their Conference League debut at the Wessex Stadium.  Swindon based youngster - Ben Reade returns to the Weymouth track having previously ridden for the Bristol Bulldogs last month and old favourite Tom Brown is also making an appearance.  Richard Andrews, Stefan Maunder and Charlie Saunders also making their Weymouth debuts.  All three have risen through the ranks on the grass track and have been riding in the Academy League.  Saunders has recently finished third in the Grasstrack National Under 21 Championship and is being tipped as the next hot prospect to make the move from the grass to shale.
