The management of the Eastbourne Eagles will be hoping to catch a glimpse of Speedway’s future at Arlington stadium this Saturday evening (7.30 p.m. start time) as they proudly present the Sussex Junior Championship.

With number one Scott Nicholls involved in the latest Grand Prix Championship round in Gothenburg, Sweden and attentions largely focussed elsewhere, the Sussex club will delight in giving youth a fling and maybe, just maybe amongst the 12 riders taking part, the regular Eastbourne second halfer’s in addition to invited guests, a budding Martin Dugard or Scott Nicholls may emerge.

The action is provided at a knock down price, adults £7, concessions £5 and children just £1 complete with free car parking and a race card and will consist of fifteen qualifying races, the twelve contestants taking five rides apiece with the top four lining up in a one off sponsored final to close the show.

More of the sports ‘up and comers’ will also be given the opportunity to shine as further races interspersed with the above will feature the clubs Youth 250 contenders.

Regular Arlington attendees are assured that the Grand Prix action will be relayed to all via the big screen in the clubhouse, therefore presenting them the ideal opportunity to enthuse over the ‘Stars of Today’ before casting an fascinated eye over the ‘Stars of Tomorrow’.

Riders :

1. Jon Stevens, 2. James Walker, 3. John Resch, 4. Ross Buchanan, 5. Aaron Baseby, 6. Alex Mcleod, 7. Niall Strudwick, 8. Michael Bovis, 9. Scott Campos, 10. Nick Laurence, 11. Jamie Dixon, 12. Scott Meakins
