Berwick Bandits will be without skipper Adrian Rymel on Saturday’s home meeting vs. Scunthorpe Scorpions as the Czech will be in Italy racing in the semi final of the European Championships.

Berwick will be permitted a guest, and have gone for the very best available within Rymel’s average, and he is King’s Lynn’s top Czech, Tomas Topinka.

Topinka has become a much sought-after guest for teams in need as he has regularly topped various team’s score charts of late including Newcastle’s on 18 points, half of the Diamonds total at Scunthorpe recently.

Berwick promoter Peter Waite said: “Tomas is one of the best these days and it will be an honour to have him guest for us in place of Adrian, as we know he can ride our place very well indeed.

“He will ride at number one and I’m sure he’ll do us proud.”

It is also understood that Hungarian Norbert Magosi has been called up to represent his country in World Cup action, and should this be ratified then the rider-replacement rule will come into force allowing his team mates, bar Topinka, to cover his four races.

Saturday also sees the debuts for Tony Atkin and Sebastian Trumiński as Tero Aarnio drops back to reserve as part of a very solid looking Bandits side indeed.
