SHEFFIELD are expecting one of the toughest tests of their home record when Workington visit Owlerton on Thursday (7.45pm).

The Comets are under new management this season with Keith Denham taking over control of the club - and he's invested heavily in major improvements at the Cumbrian venue as well as piecing together a strong team.

There is no doubt this meeting would be fitting for a Play-off Final - and both sides have serious title ambitions.

Neil Machin, owner of the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side, said: "Workington will provide us with a tough test I'm sure. Nermark, Nieminen and Stonehewer are a powerful spearhead and we're going to need to be in top form.

"I feel the scene is set for a classic contest between two sides who have always been regarded as top Premier League outfits."

Comets will be without the unfortunate Barry Burchatt who is suffering from internal injuries sustained in a Grass Track event last week.

Sheffield, meanwhile, will be at full strength with Lee Smethills facing one of his former clubs.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Joel Parsons, Andre Compton, Lee Smethills, Ben Wilson, Sam Martin, Paul Cooper.

WORKINGTON: Daniel Nermark, Barry Burchatt R/R, Kauko Nieminen, Charles Wright, Carl Stonehewer, Joe Haines, John Branney.
