Reading bosses have swooped to sign Nicki Glanz as an injury replacement to cover for the continued absence of Danny Warwick.
Warwick reported back to the hospital last week to undergo a CT scan on his injured shoulder and, following that, has been ruled out of action for at least another month.
As a result, the Racers have signed Glanz as a 28-day injury replacement.
Promoter Malcolm Holloway explained: “Unfortunately, Danny is going to be out for at least another month and as we’ve had so many problems trying to find suitable guests to replace him each week, we have made the decision to bring Nicki into the team in the interim.
“Nicki has really impressed us with his performances at Smallmead in the past few weeks and if he continues to do so in our upcoming matches, we’ll look at bringing him here on a full transfer.
“At least now we have a full set of seven riders again and that will help us, as we have some important meetings coming up.”
Nicki is the son of Peter Glanz, who rode for the Racers in two spells, from 1983-87 inclusive, and 1993.
