Weymouth speedway have taken the decision to honour all Newport speedway season ticket holders entry to the Wildcats meetings at the Wessex Stadium. Along with season ticket holders, re-admission tickets from the rain-off meeting with Birmingham will also be honoured, but the club ask supporters wishing to use the re-admission tickets to contact the club prior to attending by either email at philbartlett@btconnect.com or by phone on 07841 042475.
Phil Bartlett Wildcats chairman said “On many occasions Tim Stone has lent a helping hand to Weymouth speedway, and in view of recent events we would like to pay our respects to him by welcoming any Newport season ticket holders to the Wessex Stadium. Not only will the demise of the Premier League club be felt by supporters but Tim’s dedication to bringing on the youngsters in the sport will also be a huge loss to British speedway. Several former and current Wildcats stared out at the Newport training schools which, along with the Wasps will be sorely missed. I sincerely hope that this is not the end of Newport speedway and that somehow someone will be able to continue Tim’s legacy in the not to distant future.”
