A few comments on Polish leagues 2008.

After years of trying Polish Ekstraliga has succesfully managed to find itself a main sponsor. From now on all E-Liga clubs will be supported by a virtual mobile phone operator - Mobilking and as bosses are saying this may not be end and new league sponsors  might be on the way.

Ekstraliga has just got divided into two groups - teams that are strong and win everything on their way (Torun, Czestochowa, Leszno), Gorzow that is somewhere in the middle and three outsiders (Rzeszow, Wroclaw, Tarnow) - teams that struggle to win even a home meeting.

This weekend there is only one E-Liga meeting run in Gorzow vs Rzeszow with only one winner possible unless there's a miracle for the away team.

Another big change this year is E-Liga TV coverage which now done by TVP Sport - tv that won the battle with Polsat Sport who covered the league last year. Polsat now only covers Liga 1 and British Elite League.

Liga 1 is not much different this season with some teams that could easily beat a few upper division teams and one or two that are somewhere in the end with no points so far. Liga 1 even has one foreign team in - Latvian Daugavpills. Bydgoszcz enjoys their first ever season in Liga 1 as they got relegated for the first time in their history. Ostrow started the season with points deducted for corruption issues at the end of last year. Ostrow, however, won all meetings so far  and  it looks like  they will not be easy to beat.

Pairs for today:
Grudziadz - Ostrow  (featuring  Harris,  Adam Roynon,  Korneliussen and Nermark)
Gdansk - Rawicz (easy win for local team)
Rybnik - Poznan (an interesting one)
Bydgoszcz - Daugavpils (televised meeting)

Liga 2 is strongest now in its all history and again there are foreign teams in - Hungarian Miskolc and Ukrainian Rovne. Leaders so far are Gniezno - relegated from Liga 1 last year and Lodz - both with ambitions to be promoted at the end of the year.

Pairs for today:
Krosno - Lodz  (an interesting one)
Gniezno - Rovne (sholud be easy win for Gniezno)
