Coventry Speedway: Match preview - Swindon Robins v Bees

LAST season's Elite League Grand Finalists lock horns once again at Blunsdon on Thursday as the Buildbase Bees travel to Swindon.

The much-changed Robins team are riding high at the top of the table courtesy of two away wins earlier in the season, at Belle Vue and Ipswich, although they lost on the road at both Eastbourne and Poole over the Bank Holiday.

Bees, meanwhile, are also on the up after collecting their first away win of the season at local rivals Wolverhampton on Monday - and that followed on from last Friday's unbelievable Craven Shield turnaround against Poole.

The Robins are at full strength for the match, whilst the Buildbase Bees continue with the same line-up which won at Wolves - with rider replacement in operation for Olly Allen, and No.8 Ben Barker substituting for Andreas Messing.

Allen faces a race against time to be fit for the British Final on May 29 after suffering hand and wrist injuries in Poland last week, whilst Messing is still in discomfort from the leg injury he received in his recent clash with Karol Zabik.

Both riders are also set to miss next Monday's home showdown with Lakeside, and will be grateful of a two-week break in the Buildbase Bees fixture list which occurs after that point.

SWINDON: Leigh Adams, James Wright, Mads Korneliussen, Travis McGowan, Troy Batchelor, Theo Pijper, Seb Alden.

BUILDBASE BEES: Chris Harris, Olly Allen R/R, Rory Schlein, Billy Janniro, Simon Stead, Stan Burza, Ben Barker.
