COVENTRY Buildbase Bees face a big local derby at Wolverhampton on Bank Holiday Monday as they now look to improve their position in the Elite League.
Bees are into the Craven Shield Final after their astonishing turnaround against Poole at Brandon on Friday, and they will hope that provides a serious confidence boost after an up-and-down start to the season.
But they will once again have two riders on the sidelines, with Olly Allen expected to be missing for three to four weeks with hand and wrist damage, whilst reserve Andreas Messing is still around a week away from fitness because of the burns to his leg.
Bees once again call upon No.8 Ben Barker to deputise for Messing, and they will cover Allen's absence with the rider replacement facility.
They currently sit seventh in the Elite League table, but have raced fewer matches than every other club, with Wolves one point better off having ridden two more matches.
The Monmore men received a surprise setback at home against Lakeside a fortnight ago, but responded in style by demolishing Peterborough last Monday, and Bees will need to quickly adapt to track conditions if they are to break their away duck.
