COVENTRY Buildbase Bees have suffered a second injury blow ahead of Friday's Craven Shield semi-final clash with Poole at Brandon.

Olly Allen, who has been their most consistent performer at home so far this season, has been ruled out after breaking a bone in his hand in a crash in Poland on Thursday.

Under the regulations, Bees' only option is to share Allen's rides out with the rider replacement facility, with Simon Stead, Billy Janniro, and reserves Stan Burza and Ben Barker - who is in for the injured Andreas Messing - eligible for an extra ride.

There is no news yet as to how long Allen is likely to be sidelined for, with Bees having important Elite League matches at Wolverhampton and Swindon next week.
