The next speedway meeting at Wagga’s Yarragundry Park circuit will now be staged on March 29.

Original plans to race this coming weekend (February 23) did not come to fruition due to the lack of availability of sidecar competitors in particular.

Co-promoters Bob Sunderland and Terry Poole are determined to put together quality fields in both solo and sidecar divisions whenever they open the gates to the fans but the lead-up to the Australian Speedway Sidecar Championship in Adelaide on the Easter weekend sees many top riders committed to meetings in both Mildura and Adelaide in coming weeks.

Reigning national champions Darrin Treloar and passenger Justin Plaisted are expected to be back at Yarragundry Park for the March meeting.

After their victory at the Australia Day meeting in Wagga, Treloar and Plaisted won the New South Wales and South Australian Championships over the past two weekends to confirm their favouritism for the upcoming Australian Championship.

Treloar in fact continues to be a great ambassador for the sport, being one of the most travelled competitors in the country as well as often assisting promoters by chasing up riders to compete at various meetings.
