On September 13, 2008 when the Lucas Oil Indy Mile AMA Flat Track Grand National roars to life on the legendary one-mile dirt oval at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 East 38th St. in Indianapolis, Indiana, it will be the result of a creative team-effort of production and promotion professionals.

The event, held in conjunction with the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP weekend, is being produced by Family Events of Indianapolis, a company with over 25 years of motorsport event production experience nationwide.

Family Events has retained Hardcard Holdings, a leading motorsports management and consulting firm, specializing in the motorcycle industry, to assist in presenting the race.  Hardcard Holdings is providing guidance and consultation on production details for the Lucas Oil Indy Mile event and lending their many years of experience with motorcycle racing and the motorcycle industry to the task of integrating the Indiana State Fairgrounds event with the overall Red Bull Indianapolis GP weekend.

J.B. Norris has been hired to announce the Lucas Oil Indy Mile AMA Flat Track Grand National.  The veteran motorsports announcer is often called “the voice of flat track” with experience announcing AMA Grand National Flat Track races since 1991.

The idea to return the “crown jewel” of the American Motorcyclist Association’s oldest and most traditional professional racing series to Indianapolis came from legendary motorsports announcer and personality Army Armstrong.  Armstrong brought the idea to C. Bruce Hubley, owner of Family Events in September, 2007 at the Indy 4-Wheel Jamboree, a massive truck enthusiast event and monster truck show also produced by Family Events.  The concept was simple, bring back a race missed by race fans everywhere to one of its most exciting venues...and do it on the weekend when the worldwide attention of  motorcycle racing fans are focused on Indy, the Racing Capital of the World.

Mike Moore, president of Family Events says, “The September 13th weekend in Indianapolis is going to be a magical time for all motorcycle fans. Family Events has years of experience promoting events nationwide and is committed to bringing back the legendary Indy Mile here in our home town. Bringing on Hardcard with their unmatched experience, contacts and accomplishments in motorcycle motorsports is a strong example of our commitment to the quality of the event.  Adding J.B. Norris as our announcer is another. J.B.’s infectious love of the sport comes through the microphone and will activate and entertain our spectators.”

John Farris, Hardcard Holdings partner says, “The Red Bull Indianapolis GP Weekend is now a complete package for motorcyclists with the return of the Lucas Oil Indy Mile Flat Track event at the Fairgrounds.  Hardcard is looking forward to helping Family Events make the race a must-attend event for motorcycle fans from around the world.”

J.B. Norris adds, “The Lucas Oil Indy Mile- Red Bull Indianapolis GP weekend will be the biggest weekend of racing this year.  Traditionally, the Indy Mile has produced intense side-by-side racing and exciting photo finishes.  I am looking forward to introducing AMA flat track racing to race fans from around the world.  Flat Track is where the American MotoGP champions learned to race.

Gates will open at 4:00pm on September 13 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.  A rider autograph session under the grandstand will be held from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.  Opening ceremonies begin at 7:00pm followed by racing at 7:30pm.  The Expert Twins main event is scheduled for 9:10pm followed by the AMA main racing finals at 9:30pm.

Advance Discount tickets are available at any Ticketmaster location, www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling (317) 239-5151. (Child ages: 12 and under)
