With great excitement we enter the second season of international flat track racing in Europe with bigger crowds, more riders and 5000 Euros in prize money.
More and more racing fans are discovering the spectacular, handlebar to handlebar, sliding and drifting action of flat track. The screaming engines of the powerful naked race bikes, going wide open without brakes, certainly give the crowds a day to remember.
Enthusiastic racers from all corners of Europe are showing interest! The great racing, laidback atmosphere and an appealing prize purse is attracting new riders. Furthermore good media coverage is permitting race teams to find support for their racing programs, and race promoters are joining forces with the flat track scene in putting together fantastic events.
This year new grounds are broken in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. Mariánské Lázně will host round 3 on their high speed 1000m cushion track and MC Eenrum in the Netherlands will stage the first European flat track race on a grooved track.
The bikes have been upgraded over the winter and several new bikes were built. At least two more big Harley-Davidson twins and several other twins and singles can be seen in action at the races.
Next to the loyal support from title sponsor Mefo Sport, Swiss composite specialist SICD and tire manufacturer Maxxis, we are very proud to announce new support coming from no less then Harley-Davidson, Acerbis, Fat-Cat, Dickies and Custom Chrome.
We also welcome the support of Dirtbike magazine! All race reports as well as previews and backgrounds will be covered by this great new magazine.
Crowning the best overall rider in true flat track tradition, that is the target for 2008! And the new calendar, showing a great diversity in track sizes and surfaces, will certainly make this possible.
The season will kick off in May with a double header: May 1st on the short track in Stralsund and May 3rd on the big track in Parchim.
