Following the success of this year’s inaugural world championship speedway event held at VELTINS-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany, promoters BSI Speedway are delighted to announce tickets have gone on sale for the 2008 FIM Germany Speedway Grand Prix that will take place on 11 October.
Commenting on the event, Paul Bellamy, managing director, BSI Speedway said: “The VELTINS-Arena is an impressive stadium and it will once again be the final round of the Series. Not only will the 2008 world champion be crowned in Germany, but we will also know the destiny of the $200,000 prize pot for the new ‘Super Prix’ system that we will have in place, details of which will be announced in the New Year.
“We had over 20,000 fans visiting this year from across Germany and Europe and to put into perspective this is more than we had at the first FIM British Grand Prix at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium in 2001. If we achieve the same year-on-year growth in Germany as we have in Cardiff we will be delighted. We anticipate a bigger crown at the VELTINS-Arena on 11 October and it promises to be an exciting finish to the 2008 Series.”
