Three successive days of 40-plus degrees in Leszno has been greeted by heavy rain on Wednesday afternoon, ahead of the Speedway World Cup race-off in Poland.

The rain is likely to make tomorrow night’s event all the more interesting, as Australia tries to negotiate its way through the meet, and into the World Cup final on Saturday night.

The Australian Team has arrived in Leszno ahead of tomorrow’s event, with hotel arrangements throwing a slight spanner in the team’s original plans.

All of the hotels in Leszno are booked out for the next week, with visitors flocking to see the biggest event in Speedway racing.

As a result, the team has been separated with some members finding accommodation in Leszno, while others were forced to drive over an hour away to Poznan for suitable accommodation there.

However the slight hiccup has not dented Australia’s hopes, with Team Manager Craig Boyce confident that the Aussies will go through to the final.

Australian captain Leigh Adams is also brimming with confidence, as he returns to the Leszno circuit where he has been racing for over 12 years.

Adams briefly commented as he checked into his Leszno hotel, and said that the facilities at the track are superb and should present an exciting night of racing tomorrow evening.

You can follow all of the action direct from Lezsno on the Motorcycling Australia website, where you will receive all the news, photos and interviews first as Australia races for Speedway glory.
