Early Elite League pacesetters, the Lakeside Hammers, provide defending champions', Poole, with their next opposition on two occasions this week.

The two sides first meet on Wednesday night (6th April, 7.30pm) at Wimborne Road with the Hammers arriving on the back of a swift home and away double over Leicester last weekend in which the Essex side took maximum points.

Added to their Good Friday home triumph over King's Lynn the Hammers have already accumulated double-digit league points, despite suffering an away loss at King's Lynn when they visited later in the day on Good Friday..

Both sides include a brace of maximum-men from their previous matches, with Richard Lawson and GP star Andreas Jonsson fresh from their 'through-the card' performances at Leicester on Saturday, pitting their talent against 2012 World Champion Chris Holder and British U21 hopeful Adam Ellis, who went unbeaten by an opponent against Swindon on Good Friday.

The ReadyPower Pirates, undefeated themselves across the three meetings they have completed in 2016 will be looking to build on those good foundations and Poole boss Matt Ford believes that "Lakeside will be a good early test for us. We meet them twice this week, as we visit their place on Friday, and with the two tracks being so different to each other it will be a good gauge as to how the lads cope with the different set-up required.

"Lakeside have certainly begun well and with every victory comes extra confidence so they will be keen to maintain their promising start and put on a good showing against us. Likewise we have been solid ourselves this year and need to build on that so all in all the signs are that we should be in for an entertaining meeting on Wednesday, and hopefully we can attract plenty of support from the terraces"

Poole - Hans Andersen, Krzysztof Buczkowski, Chris Holder, Brady Kurtz, Dave Watt (capt), Adam Ellis, Kyle Newman - Team manager Neil Middleditch

Lakeside - Lewis Bridger, Andreas Jonsson (capt), Richard Lawson, Kim Nilsson, Piotr Swiderski, Lewis Kerr, Robert Mear -Team manager Kelvin Tatum
