The opening night at Paris Speedway was presented with good weather, but a low rider turnout.
CKPC was on hand to officially launch their 2007 sponsorship of the Paris Speedway events. The night was full of close racing and our Divison 1 guys did a fabulous job of battling hard all night! Jeff Orosz in his new GTS suit from the UK looked and acted the part in his total points win for the night! Terry Rideout produced some great racing and kept Michigan rider Mark Engel behind him all night to take the Divison 2/3 night's award. Corinne Franic took a trip on the back of Terry's bike for the lap of honor, but we will see if the roles reverse this week, when our lovely lady of speedway returns!
This coming Saturday night sees the official start of the 2-month season at Welland Speedway. Located just outside Niagara Falls, the event draws a large weekly crowd who love to watch speedway! The CSRA will be heading the running of the speedway events for the first time, and we look forward to having a great show for all to see! The new clothing rule changes that the CSRA worked so hard with the CMA to introduce throughout the winter months, will provide us with more riders and more fun!
Throughout the sunmmer months, a school will be held at Paris Speedway to encourage new riders to break ground and come out and try our great sport. The cost will be $150.00 for the day and will include lunch, awards, bikes, fuel, oil and clothing.
