Tom Neave added to his British Shorttrack title with a fantastic win in the Grand Final on Saturday, giving him the International Indoor title as well.
24 riders from all over the World came to Arena UK, Grantham to try to win the International Indoor title. After 9 heat races, 2 semi finals and the last chance race, it come down to 8 riders with the chance of taking the title.
Tom Neave lined up on the front row next to STUK's number 1 Ade Collins and his twin brother Tim riding the team Suzuki bike, on row two was Ben Baker, Kevin Doolan, Peter Boast and the third row Glyn Pocklington and Tony Primmer.
Ade made the hole shot with Tom Neave and Ben Baker hard on his tail. On lap two Collins and Neave pulled away from Baker who in turn had Boast, Doolan and Tim Neave pushing him hard and on lap 3 Tom made a fantastic move around the outside of Collins to take the lead.
On lap 5 Tom began to pull a lead on Collins and Tim Neave had swept around the outside of Baker and Boast. By lap 8 Tom was still leaving Collins, who still had a couple of bike lengths in front of the other Neave and Baker lost another place this time to Kev Doolan.
Going into the last lap Tom had just about done the job with 4 bikes lead over Collins, who was now under pressure from Tim Neave and the battle was still raging between Doolan, Baker, Boast and now Pocklington.
Tom took the Chequered flag for another fantastic win at Arena UK, to take the International Indoor Shorttrack title, Collins got a rare second in the end and Tim Neave took the last spot on the rostrum.
