Loxford Park in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales will be the venue for a glimpse into the bright future of Australian Speedway as some of the nation’s best emerging talent put it all on the line at the 2012 Australian Under 21 Solo and Under 16 350cc Speedway Championship.
Leading the charge for the Under 21 Solo crown will be Newcastle-native Sam Masters, fresh from a breakout 2012 Australian Solo Speedway Championship.
Masters, returning to home shores after claiming the 2011 British Premier League Rider Championship, claimed fourth overall in the Australian Championships, reaching three consecutive A Finals.
Forced to come through qualifying for the Championship, the Under 21 star produced on the big stage, mixing it with the likes of Chris Holder and Davey Watt.
A talent-filled field will be out to crash the Masters party, with the likes of Victorian duo Justin Sedgmen and Dakota North, NSW riders Todd Kurtz and Mason Campton all eager to claim the coveted crown.
The talent stakes are equally as deep in the Under 16 class with a host of in-form riders stepping up in capacity, led by recently crowned Under 16 125cc Champion Brady Kurtz.
Fresh from a dominating weekend at Kurri Kurri earlier this month, adding a Under 16 Teams title with Jack Holder to his solo achievement, the New South Wales rider will again face stiff competition.
Holder will be eager to get one over his NSW teammate, while the likes of Victorian Max Fricke and Queenslander Lawson Walters are also strong contenders.
Following a late withdrawal by Queenslander Hayden Barr, fellow Queensland rider Tyson Snow will now take part in the Under 21 Solo.
The 2012 Australian Under 21 Solo & Under 16 350cc Speedway Championship takes place at Loxford Park, Kurri Kurri on Saturday 28 January.
