Stoke Easy Rider Potters will face National League Champions Scunthorpe in the National League Knock Out Cup.
The draw sees’ Ashley Birks, Richie Worrall and Potters team manager Malcolm Vasey up against their former club in what Stoke promoter Dave Tattum believes will be a mouth watering clash between the two sides. Tattum commented “I’m sure there will be some friendly rivalry with Ash and Rich returning to their old stamping ground and of course Malcolm will also be looking to get one over his former club also.”
Tattum also confirmed that the league will consist of eight clubs and that the Potters would again host the National League Fours for a second consecutive season. The club have also been handed the British Under-21 semi final which will take place the week prior to the under-21 final which will take place at Dudley’s Monmore Wood Stadium sometime in April.
Tattum commented “I’m very pleased with the way the AGM went on Thursday and I’m now really looking forward to the new season.
I would have preferred a few more clubs in the league but it does mean we have a very competitive league and I’m sure the league will provide some excellent racing and some very close meetings.
Malcolm and I will now sit down and look at completing the team for the new campaign and we will looking at all of the options available to us. We are both fully aware that we need to make the right decisions at the tail end of the team and we have a number of riders in our sights, but we will take our time and make sure we make the right decisions as we look to build on last season.”
