Sim Speedway is now just about to start running it's sixth year in providing online simulated speedway management and promotion, Sim Speedway is the game that gives it's managers one of the most realistic views in running a club in the methanol fumed two wheeled sport.

After a very succesful 5th season that finished in mid December 2006 we have just completed our free bonus competition for the managers who have been most active within the game, that being a team World Cup where those managers get to manage a nation.  This is run annually over Xmas and New Year and this season's has been the most exciting ever and we are now preparing to go even further with this and run an event that will see the World's Under 21's get their chance, plans are also under way for an U-19 event too.

The main game itself has seen the rise from an idea over a cup of coffee to what has, in the managers own opinions became the best 'fantasy' speedway game available online.  The transition over the last 5 years has been nothing short of startling.  The only low point of the game was in season one which sadly saw the game, which was free to enter at the time, abandoned approximately two thirds of the way through following the accident to Berwick Bandits rider Carlos Villar, as the game administrators were heavily involved in his Support Fund set up to raise money for the paralysed Argentinian.  The game has grown with both the game administrators ideas alongside the fact they are only too ready to listen to ideas that the managers in the game have, there are more things to be added into the game over the next two seasons which shows that this game is here for the duration.

The game runs on a 3 league main structure (Ultimate, Power & Academy) with a development league at the bottom.  The top 3 leagues have each season, a K.O Cup, a Pairs tournament, a Fours tournament, a Three Team tournament (for teams who are knocked out early in the KO Cup), a GP series, a World u-21, a British u-18 and a computer run European league structure that sees the introduction of unknown foreign riders. All this is provided for less than one pound a week, a bargain £18 per season !  Unlike some speedway simulaton games the fee covers EVERYTHING mentioned above - there is no charge for cup matches or friendlies, that has to be a very attractive deal to anyone that plays or has ever thought of online partcipation in a speedway simulation.

The game now has active managers from England, Scotland, Wales and more recently a managers who is based in SPAIN !  The game is always looking for managers to be prepared to be on the shortlist and should managers drop out the managers on the shortlist are then introduced - this always adds new breath to the growing community.

The game has a very active forum which has seen the birth of Sim News which is the Sim Speedway game's own newsletter publication. This sees recent results, stories and manager quotes all collated and sent out to all participants free of charge, there is a competition that gives managers the chance to win money money for their club and it also has an "introduction to the managers" section where one manager answers a set of questions which allows the other managers to get a better idea of who they are.
