The new Norwegian Speedway Champion its the 19 year old youngster Lars Daniel Gunnestad (19) from NMK Drammen. He crashed in his 4 heat in the start curve. After some minutes, he wa helped back on his GM-bike.
Gunnestad rode very good on the little track Vinsvoll (about 260 metre). He won all his seven heat included the big finale. - I am very happy for this victory. After the crash earlier in the meeting, its all ended very good for me. This is my biggest moment in Speedway, said a smiling Gunnestad. He also rides for Ikaros Smedarna in the swedish All-Svenskan, and they are in this weeks play-off finale against Rospiggarna. - The last month have been fantastic for me, tells the new Norwegian Champ.
His younger brother, Thomas Gunnestad (16), followed up, raced very good and ended on silverplace as one of the youngest ever on top three in NM-history. The former Champ, Rune Sola, was very unlucky with the start in the semifinale. Solas bike stood still for many seconds on the start, but after som fast racing he was beaten by Jan Mikke Bjerk by som few inches in the semifinale for the last place in the finaleheat.
