Aidan Collins dominated Round 3 of the Pozzani Grand National UK Flat Track Championship, at the half mile trotting track at Amman Valley this weekend.

From the very first heat race Collins looked the man to beat after winning comfortably from Tim Neave and Richard Mason. When the semi's came around, Collins won again but this time he was put under a lot of pressure from the young Lincolnshire rider Ben Baker. The other semi was won by Pidcock's Honda rider Tom Woolley, who had a great dice with Richard "Magic" Mason and 16 year old Suzuki rider Tim Neave.
Grand Final line up consisted of - front row Collins, Woolley, Baker, Mason, second row, Neave, Ben Wells, Wayne Drake, Glyn Pocklington and the back row comprised Peter Boast, Alan Birtwistle and two riders from last Chance Darren Trapmore and Steve Coles.

Collins made no mistake and holeshoted out the first corner with rest pack hard after him. By the end of the first lap Collins already had a bike length lead from Mason, Woolley, Wells, and Neave with Drake rounding out the top 6. On lap 3 Collins was way in front and the battle was on for second 2nd spot between Mason and Woolley, with Tim Neave closing in on the pair. On lap 5 Wayne Drake went down in middle of the pack while in 5th spot, scattering riders all over, then on lap 6 Suzuki's Tim Neave came to grief when challenging for third spot.

By the 9th lap in the blistering heat Collins had 1/2 a straight lead and Mason had pulled away from Woolley. The battle for fourth was hotting up with Ben Wells, Boastie and Baker. As the race reached full distance H M Plant rider Aidan Collins cruised to victory, with Richard Mason in a safe second spot, Tom Woolley was being closed down by Ben Wellsbut held on for the last spot on the podium. That now gives Collins a 20 point lead in the Championship from Aussie Star Tyson Nelson, who now has just a 3 point lead over Tom Woolley in third spot.
