There is a new rider and a new team manager announced for the George Stancl Farewell at Newcastle on Monday 27th September (7:30pm).
Joe Screen will ride in the Glasgow quartet. Joe says “I’ve known George for a while back from the Under-21 days. I haven’t seen so much of him recently with George going Premier League. When I won by Under-21 in Pardubice his dad Jiri was on the scene, helping the boys, and we became good friends then.
“My mechanic Diesel Dave has always helped George so that’s another reason I want to do the meeting”.
There’s a replacement team manager for Newcastle because Jesper Olsen has had to pull out, so who better to come in than the current Diamonds’ captain Jason King who is out injured at the moment.
“I’m looking forward to it though I wish I was riding! I’ve known George since I first came up to Newcastle in 2008 and he was riding there. He helped us out, let me use his workshop when I didn’t have anywhere”.
(Riders announced so far: Kenni Larsen, Rene Bach and Andrew Tully (Newcastle), Pepe Franc (Sheffield), Joe Screen (Glasgow), Mark Lemon and James Grieves (Wolverhampton)).
