Short track UK graduate Ben Baker was challenging Marco Belli hard for the lead during the 15 lap Grand final in front of several thousand spectators.
Baker joined the night race for round 6 of the International Mefo Sport Flattrack Cup 2010 which was run in the fantastic Kellerholz arena of the legendary MC Bergring Teterow. In the end it was the Fratelli d'Italia that was played for the podium ceremony but 17 year old Ben Baker won the show! Reigning champion Pete Boast was hampered with technical problems and secured third spot on a borrowed Co-Built Rotax.
Stefan Gatzenmeier was in the spot lights all night as the only German rider and he made some very strong showings. The entire event was flawlessly run and included spotless facilities with flood lights, well informed and experienced race control, grid girls, live music, memorabilia stands, delicious snacks and a fantastic crowd!
