Former Plymouth favourites Kyle Hughes and Paul Starke will be back in action at the St Boniface Arena on Friday evening (7.30pm) for what promises to be an attractive Westernapolis individual meeting.

They will join the six present members of the Devils team, along with new signings Bob Charles and Ross Walter, who have been drafted into the squad following the unfortunate injury to David Gough.

Charles, from Cornwall, has impressed in practice rides at the St Boniface Arena this season while Walter is a talented road racer from Poole.

Completing the 12-rider field will be Dean Felton from the Isle of Wight and King’s Lynn rider Jake Knight.

Hughes is riding for Rye House and Starke is figuring for the Isle of Wight in the National League. They will doubtless be keen to show how they shape up against the current Devils team members, including Nicki Glanz, whose arrival prompted Starke’s departure.

The meeting is being sponsored by Stitches Tailoring of St Judes and will be staged over 15 heats followed by two semi-finals and a final with a cash bonus for the winner of the final.

Line-up: Mark Simmonds, Seemond Stephens, Nicki Glanz, Matt Bates, Ben Reade, Jaimie Pickard, Bob Charles, Ross Walter, Jake Knight, Paul Starke, Kyle Hughes, Dean Felton. Reserve: Rhys Hooper.
