Great Britain World Cup hero Scott Nicholls will deputise for injured Grand Prix star Freddie Lindgren in Wolverhampton's Elite League clash with Swindon at Monmore on Monday (7.30).
Lindgren crashed out of the defeat in Wiltshire last week and was knocked out in a crash which also involved Ty Proctor who is rated as 50/50 for Monday.
And there's an injury concern over Parrys International Wolves skipper Tai Woffinden who missed two massive meetings over the weekend with whiplash.
The 19-year-old was ruled out of the Elite League Pairs Championship on Saturday and the World Under-21 Team Final on Sunday.
Ipswich star Nicholls has enjoyed a fine season both at domestic and international level - and the club have arrangements in place should Proctor and Woffinden fail to make it.
Wolves owner Chris Van Straaten said: "Freddie is struggling with his back and needs some more time to rest, so we have gone for Scott who is always good entertainment around Monmore Green as well as a good points scorer.
"We are also expecting a decision on Woffy and Proctor by lunchtime but we have already made alternative arrangements as a precaution. We're keen to continue our proud unbeaten home run."
WOLVERHAMPTON: Scott Nicholls, Ty Proctor, Nicolai Klindt, Tai Woffinden, Adam Skornicki, Matt Wethers, Ludvig Lindgren.
SWINDON: Leigh Adams, Mads Korneliussen, Grzegorz Zengota, Maciej Janowski, Simon Stead, Cory Gathercole, Morten Risager.
