A large crowd is expected as the Stoke Easy Rider Potters entertain Premier League Champions elect Edinburgh in the Premier League at Loomer Road on Saturday night (4th).
The Monarchs need just one point to clinch the title after beating King’s Lynn 42-53 at the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday night.
The Potters will be looking to spoil the party by beating the Scottish outfit and claim all three points, but they will all have to give the best performance of the season if they are to stop Edinburgh from from being crowned champions at the Chesterton circuit.
Stoke will be at full strength for the clash as they look to bounce back from the thirty point mauling they suffered at Rye House on Bank Holiday Monday.
Edinburgh are led by former American international Ryan Fisher and he receives solid back up from Kevin Wolbert and Andrew Tully while Matthew Wethers and Kalle Katajisto are in good form in the middle order of the side. At reserve the Monarchs have recent signing William Lawson who was in Edinburgh’s previous league championship winning side a couple of season’s ago when he was number one in their line up before a couple a couple of tough seasons away from Armadale at Berwick, Glasgow and this season an ill fated move to Belle Vue in the Elite League saw the rider return back to the Monarchs with Ashley Morris lining up as second reserve for the Monarchs.
Easy Rider Potters Czech Republic rider Lubos Tomicek believes the Potters can take a victory over Edinburgh saying “It will be a very tough meeting for us but we want to extend out season and gain qualification into the Young Shield, we do not want to finish our season early and all the team know what they have to do on Saturday night. If we win against Edinburgh it will go a long way to helping us qualify for the young shield and that means an extra few matches for all of us. The team and I all know that this has not been the best season for the club and that this trophy is the last one we have to fight for and I can assure everyone we will be fighting for it. We are a stronger team at home and although Edinburgh are a very good team I feel we can gain a narrow victory over them and that would be such a boost for the team, supporters and sponsors of the club as a whole and we will be doing our very best to get a victory.”
