Poole Speedway: Pirates clash in their opening rides.

Poole Castle Cover Pirate Davey Watt and GP regular Chris Holder will go head to head in heat 4 of the 8th GP round of this year's series, the FIM Valvoline Croatian Grand Prix at Gorican on Saturday.

Along with the two current Pirates will be fellow Australian and Poole asset Jason Crump with Denmark's Kenneth Bjerre completing the line-up for heat number four. Watt takes his place in the meeting as series reserve to replace the injured Emil Sajfutdinov and this will be the skipper's second appearance this year, having scored 6 points at Cardiff in his debut.

His team-mate Holder still harbours hopes of an automatic entry in to the 2011 series by finishing in the top 8 of the series. Holder goes into the Croatian round in 6th place with 66 points, some 11 points clear of Andreas Jonsson who presently occupies that final qualifying place and is looking for a better start to this round than that he endured in the previous where he ran two last places.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's meeting Holder has admitted "I’ve had a sort of bad run and I’ve been struggling everywhere abroad and stuff. I’ve been a bit down and it hasn’t been too good. But I had a good match in Poland on Wednesday night and hopefully I can carry that on into the weekend. I started off on the wrong foot with two last places in the first two races. I left myself a pretty big task to scrape into the semis from the last three heats. I got a few points, but it was disappointing because I was in scoring positions and got passed. I’ve been trying hard to get everything working and if I hit the front this weekend, hopefully I’ll stay out in front. I want to get a few points so I can make sure I don’t drop out of that top eight. To be honest, I’m not too worried about my position. I just want to take each meeting as it comes. I’ll just try and get as many points as I can and go from there.”

Poole's other representative in this year's competition, Magnus Zetterstrom, who lies 13th on 46 points has been drawn number 9 and will appear in heat 3 against Britain's Chris Harris, hot home track favourite Jurica Pavlic (whose father owns the circuit) and Jonsson, whilst championship leader Tomasz Gollob has been drawn at 3 so will appear in the opening heat

Complete draw: 1. F.Lindgren (54pts); 2. H.Andersen (61); 3. T.Gollob (107); 4. T.Woffinden (31); 5. R.Holta (76); 6 J.Hampel (102); 7.G.Hancock (53); 8. N.Pedersen (51); 9. M.Zetterstrom (46); 10. C.Harris (51); 11. J.Pavlic (wild card); 12. A.Jonsson (55); 13. C.Holder (66); 14. J.Crump (90); 15. D.Watt (6); 16. K.Bjerre (75)
