Swindon begin a hectic spell of Elite League fixtures, when Ronnie
Russell’s side take on Lakeside at Blunsdon on Thursday (26 August).

After a succession of rained-off meetings, the Robins will be
targeting a return to winning ways when Jon Cook’s Hammers descend on the Abbey Stadium.

The meeting against Lakeside is followed twenty-four hours later by a
visit to Peterborough, before Swindon entertain Ipswich at Blunsdon on
Monday 30 August.

Then, on Thursday 2 September, the Robins are scheduled to stage their
penultimate home league fixture against high-flying Wolverhampton –
the reigning Elite League Champions.

Recently recruited Polish youngster Maciek Janowski will make his
Robins’ debut in Thursday’s meeting against Lakeside. The highly-rated
19-year-old thrill-merchant will slot into the No. 4 position
alongside compatriot, Grzegorz Zengota.

Mads Korneliussen shuffles to the No. 2 slot and will line-up against
side Swindon skipper Leigh Adams.

Elsewhere, Cory Gathercole and Morten Risager fill the reserve
department, with the latter moving to the No. 7 berth.

Lakeside are headed by former Robins’ favourite Lee Richardson and the
Brit is joined by Finnish Champion Kauko Nieminen and Aussie ace Adam
Shields.

Meanwhile, Australian hot-shot Sam Masters has been drafted into the
Hammers’ lower order as a guest inclusion.

Swindon team-manager Ronnie Russell said: “Ahead of these matches, I’d like to reassure supporters of Swindon Speedway that I’m hugely
passionate about this club, I live and breathe it.

“I can sympathise with those who feel frustrated about out current
situation, I feel that way too. We need to stick together, though, and
ride out of this run of form we currently find ourselves in.

“This intense run of fixtures provides us with an opportunity to
gather some momentum. Of course, we’re all looking forward to seeing
Maciek Janowski take to the track against Lakeside on Thursday.

“He’ll be feeling nervous before the meeting gets underway, so I’m
urging supporters to give him a huge cheer on parade to help ease his
nerves.”
