With the build-up to the U-21 World Cup Final at Rye House now in full swing, and given the interest being shown in the event, it has been agreed to open the stadium turnstiles on Sunday, September 5th, at 11am ahead of the start time of 2pm.
Stadium work has also been carried out to add high terracing to the back straight. The work will increase the viewing capacity in that area by approximately 500.
The World Championship will be decided over 25 heats to mirror the senior World Cup event. Purely coincidentally, the four competing nations are also the same as those involved in last month’s senior Final, with host nation Great Britain tackling Linus Sundstrom’s Sweden, Denmark and defending titlists Poland.
All Go Free At Rye House
Following previous successful promotions at Rye House, the Kart Raceway Cobras’ home National League clash against Scunthorpe on Saturday, August 28th (7pm) has been announced as an “All Go Free” meeting. As before, the turnstiles will be left unattended with all supporters allowed in to watch the racing for free, with no strings attached.
The decision will make what is a sport-focused Bank Holiday weekend more affordable to all. There is also double header action at Rye House on the Bank Holiday Monday (30th @ 2pm), with the Silver Ski Rockets facing Stoke in the Premier League and the Cobras tackling the Isle of Wight in the National League. Admission details for the double header are: Adults £20, Seniors £15, Children £5.
Make It a Date: Saturday the 18th
The Silver Ski Rockets have moved to agree a new Premier League date with Glasgow following Saturday’s rain-off. The Tigers will now be in town on Saturday, September 18th (7pm), replacing the originally scheduled Inter-League Challenge fixture against near neighbours Lakeside.
