Ade Collins takes a comanding lead in Pozzani Silkolne Shorttrackuk championship with a fine win in Round 5 of the championship.
Ade was in fantastic form and sailed through the heat races and semi finals, giving him pole for the Grand Final. Next to Ade was 17 year old Ben Baker who won Semi 2, with the previous round's winner Italian Jacopo Monti and CCM works rider Tom Woolley rounded out the front row of 12 rider final.
Collins holeshotted the H M Plant Honda with Monti hard on his tail. The dusty, hard packed track made it difficult to pick the rest of the riders out as they completed the first lap. By lap 4 Collins still had the lead from Monti, who was closely followed by Woolley with 4th taken by Darren Trapmore on the Kinrade Honda , but lap 5 saw Richard Mason take a heavy fall down on turn 3 which brought out the red flags.
The restart was a line out and once again Collins did not make a mistake and lead the pack. There was a challenge for 3rd with Trapmore getting the better of Woolley followed by Marco Belli, Ben Baker and Glyn Pocklington banging handle bars.
With 3 laps left Collins was begining to pull away from Monti, Tom Woolley had re past Trapmore and the mid- pack was still a freight train of riders wheel to wheel battling in a dust cloud.
Ade Collins continued his perfect ride and took his 3rd Grand Final win of the season, second was Monti and a well deserved 3rd went to 16 year old Tom Woolley.
