The Silver Ski Rockets will be one of eight competing teams in this year’s Premier League Fours Championship, which will be staged at its spiritual home of Peterborough on Sunday, August 15th.

The Silver Ski Rockets have drawn in Semi-Final Two alongside quartets from league leaders Edinburgh, Scunthorpe and 2005 winners Somerset.

The Rockets’ squad will comprise Linus Sundstrom, Jordan Frampton, Stefan Ekberg and Chris Neath.

Semi-Final One, meanwhile, will consist of sides from three-time titlists Newcastle, Birmingham, Sheffield and Berwick.

The top two finishers in each of the eight race groups will move on to the Grand Final – also over eight heats – the same afternoon.

Workington – winners for the last two seasons – and 2009 treble winners King’s Lynn are both surprise omissions having failed to make the cut for the event, which was based on the combined averages for each team’s top four riders in the August Green Sheets.

The first race is scheduled for 2.30.

Stat Fact: The Rockets’ best ever finish in the event to date came in the 1980 Championship, when they finished second behind long-defunct Crayford and ahead of equally long-lost Ellesmere Port.
