Birmingham Speedway: Lyons warns Larsen 'What goes around come around'

BIRMINGHAM Speedway skipper Jason Lyons insists his side are well and truly up for the challenge of gaining revenge over Newcastle to win the Premier Trophy at Perry Barr on Wednesday (7.30).

A bumper crowd is expected with the first major national team silverware of the season up for grabs as the BRC Roofing Brummies look to overhaul a 22-point deficit from the first leg on Tyneside last Sunday.

And Lyons, the vastly experienced Australian, says it's still a real possibility that Birmingham can stage a massive fightback - and he's taken a swipe at Newcastle's talented Danish youngster Kenni Larsen after an incident in the first leg.

"We haven't thrown this away, we know we can beat Newcastle by the same score at home and that's our aim although I have to say we all left Newcastle pretty cheesed off on Sunday," he said.

"Larsen was like a young Nicki Pedersen on Sunday, but he will learn like Nicki has learnt. What goes around comes around, but sometimes the young guys can go over the top."

Gates open at 6pm with Birmingham expecting one of their biggest crowds of the season for a meeting which has also attracted the backing of Johnsons Volkswagen after a recent first-time visit to watch Speedway.

BIRMINGHAM: Jason Lyons, Aaron Summers R/R, Justin Sedgmen, Richard Sweetman, Steve Johnston, Lee Smart, Kyle Newman.

NEWCASTLE: Kenni Larsen, Derek Sneddon, Jason king, Rene Bach, Mark Lemon, Dakota North, Anders Andersen.
