Astley & Tyldesley hosted Round 3 of the One2Call British Women and Girls League on Saturday.

The South and South Wales team were missing star rider Livvi Horsley, who sustained a broken collar bone the previous weekend. However, they made light of her absence to easily account for a lesser experienced North and Scotland team, who tried hard throughout. A good match took place, with no rider racing unbeaten. Rachel Edge lost only in heat 4, to a fine ride by Sandra Tamborska which saw the North rider sweep round her Southern opponent. The South's Lauren Hookway slipped on the start in heat 6 and although she passed Tamborska, she couldn't catch Laura Watson, for her only defeat of the match. Tamborska and Watson were the two best riders for the North, both winning two races each. The South were solid throughout, with Edge and Hookway losing once each, as did Charlotte Cox in her three races.

Disappointingly, the Eastern team withdrew earlier in the week, so there was no match between Eastern and Midlands.

The Individual Grands Prix were contested by the riders from the team match, plus the South's Sophie Tulloch and lone Midlands rider Natalie Timms. Charlie-Jane Herbert headed the qualifiers in the U-15 category, with Rachel Edge racing unbeaten in the Open qualifiers. In the U-15 Final, Lauren Hookway flew away from the gate 1 to win comfortably, as Charlie-Jane Herbert fell whilst trying to pass Charlotte Cox on the first lap. Cox finished 2nd, with Sandra Tamborska third. In the Open Final, Rachel Edge led from gate 1 and held off the challenges of Jessica Lamb to win, with Laura Watson third. Fastest time of the day was 46.98 secs, by Lauren Hookway in heat 4 of the U-15 qualifiers.
