The Poole Castle Cover Pirates are back in action on Monday night (19th July) when they travel to the East of England Showground, Peterborough for what looks to be one of their toughest challenges of the season.

The Panthers have been invincible on home territory this season, although the Castle Cover Pirates will be encouraged that their narrow four point deficit there on April 9th was the closest any visiting side have come in trying to break the fortress of Alwalton.

Only last Friday the Panthers celebrated a 21 point win over Swindon, a result not lost on Poole boss Matt Ford. "There is no doubt that Peterborough are an exceptionally strong team especially on home soil and to beat them we will need to be on tip-top form. But we all know that anything is possible in speedway and I have to say that we were left reeling when we didn't pick up any points at Eastbourne on Thursday.  I feel that as a team we are currently suffering from a bit of match rustiness. We went into the football world cup having ridden more matches than our rivals and we have come out of it having ridden fewer.

That showed a bit at Eastbourne and with Friday night being rained-off at Coventry it hasn't helped our riders get back into the groove. That won't help our cause at all, which is a tough one at the very least, but, it is a televised fixture so wouldn't it be the most perfect platform for us to upset Peterborough's proud record?!"

Peterborough are currently nested in 4th place in the Sky Sports Elite league table, 18 points behind leaders Poole and having ridden the same number of meetings, 20 having consolidated that position with the thrashing of Swindon.

Both sides have declared a full-strength line -up for the meeting which starts at 7.30pm and will be covered live on Sky Sports television,

Peterborough:
K.Bjerre (9.85); N.Iversen (7.80); R.Schlein (6.80); T.Batchelor ( 6.67); K.Buczkowski (4.00); M.Tressarieu (3.12) N.Kosciuch (3.00)

Poole:
C.Holder (8.74); D.Watt (8.34); B.Pedersen (7.95); A.Mroczka (7.01); L.Madsen (6.56); D.Ward (6.35); J.Doyle (5.78);
