WOLVERHAMPTON Speedway rider Matt Wethers is hoping to be back on a bike on Friday after crashing out of Monday's win over Swindon at Monmore.
Wethers rides for Edinburgh Monarchs on a full-time basis in the Premier League and has set himself a target of facing Birmingham in Scotland on Friday.
He said: “I felt pretty rough after falling and getting knocked out at Wolverhampton. I have a sore head and neck at the back of my head where the helmet meets the neck.
“I should be fine for Friday if I can get the bike back together. The forks are definitely gone, the front wheel, possibly the frame – it’s all replaceable.”
Wolverhampton's next home meeting is the eagerly awaited Knockout Cup tie with neighbours Coventry next Monday, July 19.
