Stockport hosted the 6th and final round of the Manchester League Grand Prix series on Wednesday evening. On a very dry track, there was a good turn out of riders.

Astley & Tyldesley's Adam Turnbull and Max Evans made some impressive starts in the U-10 match, but couldn't keep out the more powerful James Elston, of Bury, who raced unbeaten.  A & T's Adam Phillips raced unbeaten in the U-13 match, with Stockport's Matt Turner dropping just the one point. Jack Lush of Stockport was the unbeaten rider in the U-16 match, which was dominated by home riders. Stockport's Ben Higham was the unbeaten rider in the U-19 category. In the team scores, once again Stockport narrowly pipped A & T, by 2 points on the night, in the Junior (Division 2) match to win the league title.

Stockport won the Division 2 title, scoring 19.5 match points, ahead of A & T on 14.5, with Bury third on 8 and Sheffield fourth on 2. To show how close run the league series was, Stockport scored only 14 race points more than A & T over the 6 round series, an average of 2 per match! A & T's race points total this season was 436, which was an improvement on last year's league title winning total of 429, but at a lower rate than Stockport's improvement (450 this year, 426 last year).

Stockport's Terry Norman raced unbeaten in the Senior (Division 1) match. Stockport recorded another easy win, to retain the Division1 team title, finishing with 18 match points. Bury finished second in the final league table, with 11.5 points, ahead of A & T third on 6.5, with Sheffield fourth on 1. Congratulations go to Stockport's Dylan Radcliffe on winning the Manchester League Senior Grand Prix series.
