Round Two of the NY State Speedway Championship was held at Action Park East in Greene, NY during a shaky day of weather conditions.

It had rained several times earlier in the day but luckily the track surface stood up well and racing began at 7pm. Veteran star, Tuff McBride carried a two-point lead into the evening, and was looking to catch his first State title since his win in 1983 at Action Park, 27 years earlier!

Casey Donholt was leading the first event but fell and it opened the door for Lee Bailey to take three points with Dee Holden second. Current State Champ, Adam Mittl, won handily in his first ride over Jerry Harman, Andy Crawford and Cole Farwell in that order. McBride was on his game from the get-go and beat Mikey Buman and Dave Clark, both of whom are of the fast young gang nowadays.

McBride kept the points rolling in round two and won over Crawford and Holden. Harman got some revenge on Mittl and handed him a loss with Bailey third and Clark fourth. Donholt got on the scorechart with 3 points over Buman and Farwell.

Again it was McBride on top in round three when he met a tough challenge from Mittl. The two see-sawed back and forth for most of the race but McBride came out ahead with Mittl in second. Bailey had third with Holden fourth. Next time out it was Donholt who won for the second time. Harman was a close second and Crawford and Clark third and fourth. Buman also recorded a win with Farwell second.

To close out the heat racing McBride stayed unbeaten with a win against Harman, with Holden in third. In a stacked heat, Donholt won with Buman second and Mittl third. Clark won the final outing with Bailey crashing out and Farwekll breaking down and the last rider scratching.

Bunk Harris won the Support Speedway Final in his first race of the year. Coming in second was teenager Zach Peters from Lockport, NY. Third was Brian Bailey, fourth Dee Holden and fifth Delber Roser.

When McBride lined up for the Pro Speedway Main he was matched against kids that were not even born when he won his first State Championship in 1983. That did not seem to matter though as he outgated the competition and showed the form that has made him one of the top Eastern Speedway Racers for over 30 years as his JBR/Justice Bros/Polito Motors/Oury/NGK Jawa carried him to win the title of 2010 NY Stat Champion, 27 years later! Donholt was second, Mittl third and Harman fourth. The next event is July 10 at Champion Speedway in Owego, NY.
