The biggest crowd in recent years, enjoyed another successful night of racing at Paris Speedway.
The track however was not up to par, and all riders found it very hard to maintain control and push hard.
A dramatic crash between Gary Hesmer and Jeff Orosz left the crowd gasping as Gary Hesmer hooked up inside the charging Orosz. The chain reaction caused Orosz to bail and fall under the weight of Hesmer and his bike, but a complete shock was that as Orosz’s loaner bike from Tim Murray hit the ground, the dirt jammed the kill-switch open and the bike took off across the centre green, Orosz realising the problem was up and on the untamed bike like ‘Superman’ to regain the control of the bike. Hesmer however, was left winded and bruised, but after a quick visit from the ambulance, he was up and ok. Frantic work to get his bike in race shape by Terry Rideout and Ron Hammond, gave Gary the opportunity to get back out and take the win in the restart!
Both Tommy Hensby and Mike Hammond, crashed hard whilst chasing their fellow riders, but both escaped any serious injury to complete their night of racing.
Katalin Davis joined Aaron Hesmer to bring good fortune for themselves by beating out Jeff Orosz in their heat races.
Scott Collier out on his ‘911’ machine was unlucky with many gremlins and was forced out of the consi-final on lap 4 while being chased by Tommy Hensby who gained a third place to the flag. He again was privy to a great race between Mike Hammond and Terry Rideout, with Rideout taking the checkered flag to complete his night!
The final race was all Aaron Hesmer; his dominance of the Paris track was shown in his beating out of Jeff Orosz, Katalin Davis and Gary Hesmer.
