WOLVERHAMPTON are gunning for the first Elite League silverware of the season when they face Lakeside Hammers over two meetings this week.
Parrys International Wolves host the first leg of the Elite Shield on Monday night at Monmore. As reigning league champions they face cup winners Lakeside Hammers with the return in Essex on Friday.
The Hammers have retained the bulk of the side which carried them to cup glory against Coventry last year although Krsysztof Kasprzak has returned to the club as a replacement for Lee Richardson.
Said Wolves boss Pete Adams: "I expect two entertaining meetings and naturally we will be looking to win the Shield.
"It would be lovely to have some silverware in the cupboard this early in the season. We will need to ride well in our home leg on Monday and build up a useful lead to take to Purfleet on Friday."
Chris Kerr, who scored 14-points for his Premier League club Birmingham last week, gets the nod at reserve but Joe Haines will replace him in Friday's return.
WOLVERHAMPTON: Freddie Lindgren, Ty Proctor, Nicolai Klindt, Joe Screen, Tai Woffinden, Ludvig Lindgren, Chris Kerr.
LAKESIDE: Krzysztof Kasprzak, Stuart Robson, Kauko Nieminen, Jonas Davidsson, Adam Shields, Paul Hurry, Daniel Davidsson.
