KINGS LYNN STARS
MARK Jones will ride at King’s Lynn on Wednesday for the staging of his brother’s memorial meeting.
Jones will captain the Ashley Jones Select team against the reigning Premier League champions at the Norfolk Arena.
He said: “This will be a proud moment for me, I have wanted to be part of this meeting for so many years but have never had the opportunity.
“It will be pretty emotional but as team captain I am determined to put that to one side and lead my team to victory!”
NEWPORT WASPS
NEWPORT have been forced into a last minute change of plan with their team after the deal to bring New Zealander Grant Tregoning to South Wales collapsed.
The Wasps are now in talks with Alex Davies about replacing him and a visa application is currently in process.
Wasps owner Steve Mallett said: “We regret having to take this action but with the new season approaching something had to be done. We hope that Grant will still join the Wasps in the future and we have not shut the door.”
