SCUNTHORPE SCORIPONS
SCUNTHORPE reserve Simon Lambert has vowed to push for a place in the main body of the Scorpions team.
Lambert notched 7+1 in their 43-33 Premier Trophy win over Sheffield at the Eddie Wright Raceway in tricky conditions because of rain.
He said: “I certainly don't want to be at reserve all year, the rides are a bit easier I know but that's not the way I look at it.
“I want to be going forward and move into the Elite League next year so I've definitely got to be pushing on and the team want to be pushing on too.”
WORKINGTON COMETS
WORKINGTON boss Ian Thomas is thrilled with the way his side have started the season.
The Comets won at Redcar on Thursday in a meeting which saw skipper Andre Compton shed a chain when leading a race.
Said Thomas: “When you look at the bad luck for Andre and what happened in the last we could have been even more impressive winners, but I’ll settle for a nine point advantage going into a home leg.”
