Stoke Easy Rider Potters promoter Dave Tattum has today announced the sad passing of Paul Gray the former Stoke co-promoter, team manager and ex-speedway control board referee. He passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Tattum said “I’m deeply saddened by the news as I spoke to Paul on a weekly basis and often had discussions with him on several aspects of the sport and the Potters in general and he was a very good friend both personally and professionally.”
Paul linked up with the Potters in the late eighties after retiring as a referee in the sport which he was very successful at on the British Speedway circuit. He became co-promoter and team manager of the Potters and was also involved in the consortium that ran Newcastle at the same time as the Staffordshire outfit.
Tattum said “We will release more details as I get them and can confirm that we will be doing something in the future here at Stoke.”
