SPEEDWAY newcomers Dudley Heathens have been handed another timely pre-season boost with a new team partner to back the club.

Heathens, who will share their home meetings between Birmingham and Wolverhampton in the National League, have welcomed Dudley Building Society to the club.

The club already have a main team sponsor in MET Ltd from Kingswinford so the addition of Dudley Building Society continues the theme of local businesses backing the exciting new project.

Heathens team boss Will Pottinger said: "As soon as the Dudley Heathens were launched we had interest from Dudley Building Society and it's great to formally welcome them on board.

"Commercial backing is vital in sport and at our level it's invaluable. We thank all those individuals and businesses who have offered their support for the new team."

Matt Ward from Dudley Building Society is delighted to get involved with the team, carrying the famous name associated with the old Cradley Heath club.

He said: "Dudley Building Society is pleased to be able to help the Heathens in their efforts to bring Speedway back to the Dudley borough.

"The Society has been looking after the savings and mortgage needs of the people of Dudley for over 150 years and we know how proud people are of the Heathens' name and heritage. It is great to see the team  riding again and we are proud to be able to support them."
