Belle Vue star Charlie Gjedde (rhymes with cheddar) is having a scan in Denmark today (Monday) after injuring his left knee during a practice session at Stoke on Saturday.
Gjedde, who has just started his comeback after being out since last July with a shoulder injury, was thrown through the safety fence after a collision with his Belle Vue colleague Patrick Hougaard.
An initial X-ray showed that nothing was broken but his knee is very swollen and he has gone home to see a specialist.
Aces' chief David Gordon said: “We will have to wait for the result of the scan but we are remaining optimistic he will be fit for out first Elite League match of the season at home to Coventry on March 29.”
