BERWICK BANDITS
BERWICK boss John Anderson can’t wait for the visit of rivals Newcastle in next Saturday’s season opener.
The Bandits were put through their paces on the newly laid Shielfield Park track and gave the surface the thumbs-up.
Said Andersen: “Our lads on track looked good and sharp and eager to please so I think the signs are there for an excellent season.
“Roll on next Saturday with the Diamonds in town, it should be a cracker.”
WOLVERHAMPTON WOLVES
PETER Adams reckons Wolves and Coventry are evenly matched going into their Monmore Green clash on Monday (7.30).
The Wolves boss is predicting a close contest between the rivals who also meet at Brandon on Friday.
He said: “This is a good way for both clubs to start the season. Coventry are one of a number of clubs who I feel look well capable of a play-off push this season, along with ourselves. I think the fans will see two good, competitive meetings.”
